See how our students show kindness

This week is Virginia Kindness Week, an opportunity to share and celebrate kindness with one another. How do CCPS students show kindness? Reams Road Elementary students gave us some examples. Watch this special video to hear it straight from them.

Groundbreaking Generative AI Student Fair to showcase innovation

 Generative AI Student Fair

Chesterfield County Public Schools invites students in grades 6-12 to be part of the first Generative AI student fair created by a U.S. school district. Students with an idea for using generative AI in a creative or unexpected way can submit a proposal online by March 15. The Student Fair will be held April 23 at Deep Creek Middle.

New resources for families of students with disabilities

The Virginia Department of Education offers three new resources for families of students with disabilities:

Special Education Parent Involvement Survey for the 2025-26 school year

Parents of school-aged children and youth with disabilities who receive special education services in Virginia are requested to complete the Virginia Department of Education’s annual Special Education Parent Involvement Survey. Complete one survey for each of your children who received special education services during the 2025-26 school year. Update to SchoolCafé payment processor

SchoolCafé, our school meal platform, recently updated its payment processing system. Charges will now appear on bank statements as “Cybersoft Technologies, Houston” instead of “SchoolCafé Houston, TX.” For questions or issues, contact SchoolCafé support at 855-729-2328.  Learn more about SchoolCafé on our Food & Nutrition Services page.

Last call! Nominate an educator for an R.E.B. Award for Teaching Excellence by Feb. 17

Do you know a CCPS teacher who inspires their students and community? Nominate them for an R.E.B. award by Feb. 17, 2026. Around 15 central Virginia teachers are selected each year to receive amazing grants up to $15,000 to support professional development. Learn more and make your nomination here.

Students facing housing instability or economic hardship have specific rights under the federal law known as “McKinney-Vento.” This episode of CCPS in the Know discusses how McKinney-Vento can help families stay engaged with their student’s education. Make a difference as a Source of Strength for our students

Source of Strength

Parents and community members are invited to become Adult Advisors with our Sources of Strength program in middle and high schools. Sources of Strength helps students build resilience, connection, and hope. Adult advisors are vital as caring, trusted supporters who help students feel connected, supported and valued. Chesterfield County Public Schools is holding a hiring event March 7 to interview eligible candidates to fill teaching positions for the 2026-27 school year. Highlights from Feb. 10, 2026 meeting

The Chesterfield County Public School Board held its regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The meeting included presentations about the proposed budget, legislative changes, summer learning opportunities and more. Community input sessions about County Administrator hiring process

The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors will be hosting a series of community meetings later this month to receive input from residents regarding the hiring of a new county administrator. Dr. Joe Casey announced late last year that he intends to retire effective July 1, 2026. The upcoming community meetings will be spread among the county’s five magisterial districts as the board looks to gather input in the process.
