Important dates and events
This Monday, Jan. 19 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day – all CCPS schools and offices will be closed.
Report cards come out Jan. 30 for schools on the traditional calendar; Bellwood Elementary report cards come out today, Jan. 16.
Virginia Kindness Week is Feb. 8-14, a special time to show care for one another.
Recognizing Virginia School Principals Appreciation Week Jan. 12-16

Our school principals inspire and guide the CCPS school communities, fostering an environment where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed. They are mentors to staff, champions for students and partners to families. When you see your school principal, say thank you and share your appreciation too!
Graduation dates set for class of 2026

Mark your calendars– the dates have been set for the CCPS class of 2026 to turn their tassels. If you have a graduating senior, check with your school for specific details. See the full list of dates here.
Superintendent to present FY 2027 budget, town halls scheduled
On Thursday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m., CCPS Superintendent Dr. John Murray will announce his proposed budget for FY 2027 to the School Board. The community will have an opportunity to learn more and offer feedback at our budget town hall meetings, starting Jan. 26. Learn more about the CCPS budget process.
Earning college credit in high school – Freshman/Sophomore edition
Last week, we promoted an info session for rising 11th and 12th graders about opportunities to earn college credit through high school coursework. This week, we’re announcing a session especially for rising 9th and 10th graders to be held Jan. 27. Families with freshmen or sophomores can register online to attend this free session.
Chesterfield Recovery Academy achieves accreditation
The Chesterfield Recovery Academy is now accredited through the Association of Recovery Schools. Across the United States, only 12 schools hold this distinction. The evaluation noted that the academy excels in educational practices and its recovery practices have many strong elements, especially mental health support. Learn more about the Recovery Academy.
Free online therapy available even when schools are closed
Holidays can sometimes disrupt students’ emotional well-being, but mental health support can provide the tools they need to stay resilient and thrive. Free online therapy for Chesterfield students in grades 6-12 continues even when schools are closed for holidays and breaks. Learn more about this service.
