Application for the career and technical center, specialty centers and governor’s schools opens Oct. 1
Each fall, eighth graders explore options for high school and may apply to the career and technical center, specialty centers and governor’s schools. The online application is open Oct. 1- Dec. 4, 2026.
Connect with colleges at Cosby High Sept. 30
Chesterfield students and families are invited to a helpful overview of the college admissions process and learn insider tips from several universities across Virginia. This event, organized by James Madison University, will be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30, 2026, at the Cosby High auditorium. Registration encouraged.
Regional GenAI Summit is tomorrow
There is still time to make plans to attend the Regional GenAI Summit, taking place 8 a.m.-3 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 26, at the Thomas R. Fulghum Conference Center. Students and families can explore how generative AI is changing the way we learn, work, create and solve problems through presentations, demonstrations, showcases and exhibits. Registration encouraged.

How many game changers do you know in Chesterfield schools? This CCPS in the Know video explains how you can easily nominate school employees for Superintendent's Game Changer Awards. Think of the outstanding teachers and school staff members you know, then nominate them as Game Changers.

Do you want to know more about the 1 For Schools proposal on your November ballot?
Chesterfield County voters are being asked to consider a proposal authorizing a dedicated 1% local sales tax for Chesterfield County Public Schools capital renovations. Under Virginia law, revenue generated by the tax could only be used on capital renovations for schools but can’t be used for salaries, operating expenses or other non-capital costs. If approved by voters, revenue generated through the proposal would support six proposed priority projects:
New Midlothian/Clover Hill Area Elementary School
New Dale Area Elementary School/Pre-K
Matoaca Middle School Replacement Completion
Midlothian Middle School Replacement
Bird High School Gym Addition
Thomas Dale High School Addition

Substitute Teacher Hiring Event - Sept. 29 at Clover Hill High. CCPS pays substitute teachers $140 on regular days and $203 on Fridays and high-demand days.
