Important Dates
Aug. 24-25: First days of school for the 2026-27 school year
Six tips to start the school year right
Update your student’s transportation information. Roll into ParentVUE and verify how your student will get to and from school, along with home and alternate addresses. Learn more about how to update this information.
Update immunizations and provide records to your school. Your schools are required to have immunization records for your students by the first day of school. Be sure to provide those if you haven’t already. Learn more about immunization requirements.
Complete the Chromebook user agreement. Students get their Chromebooks after school begins. But before a Chromebook can be issued, a parent or guardian must complete a Chromebook Use Agreement for the 2026-27 school year in ParentVUE. See more information about Chromebooks.
Review your school’s supply list. If your school requires supplies, review the supply list (found under School Information on their website) to make sure you’ve got everything your student needs for the first day.
Subscribe to the school division student calendar. Stay up to date with holidays, early dismissals, and other important dates by subscribing to the divisionwide calendar on your personal device or calendar app.

Today: Watch for a text to opt in to continue receiving CCPS text alerts
As part of the school division's transition to a new email/text/phone messaging system (SchoolMessenger), employees and families should receive a text message this afternoon asking them to confirm that they wish to receive important text alerts from their school and the school division.
The message will come from this five-digit short code: 67587.
The message will say: Chesterfield County School District messages. Reply Y to confirm, HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies.
When you receive the text message, reply Y to opt in. If you do not reply, you will no longer receive text alerts from your school or the school division.

For a few weeks during the transition from Apptegy to SchoolMessenger, both systems will be operational, and school and school division text messages may come from either of two five digit codes – one associated with each messaging system. This does not mean you will receive the same message from both numbers. Messages from either number are legitimate school division communications.
New educators receive a ginormous, happy welcome
This week at the annual new educator orientation, we welcomed more than 550 teachers, librarians and counselors who are new to the profession, the division or both. But it was not ordinary hello-and-how-do-you-do – every school showed up and showed out to deliver excitement and joy for our incoming educators. See if you can spot your school!
Come celebrate expanded student opportunities at CTC@Hull
A $9.5 million renovation has transformed 42,000 square feet of former office space into additional classrooms and specialized learning areas for students, nearly doubling the center’s classroom capacity.
Join us to cut the ribbon and tour the updated space at Career and Technical Center @ Hull (13900 Hull Street Road) on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
The expanded facility supports programs in business; energy; health science; hospitality, tourism and lodging management; information technology; and television and media production. The renovation also modernized the Thomas R. Fulghum Conference Center.

Registration open for CCPS Night School through Aug. 27, 2026
Night School provides high school students the opportunity to earn credits at no cost in the evening. A wide variety of courses are offered including English 11 and 12, graphic design, driver’s education, ecology, U.S. history and more. Students and families should contact their school counselor to register. Night School classes begin Aug. 31.
Food services hiring event Aug. 19
Chesterfield County Public Schools is interviewing for part-time food services associates to work in school cafeterias at a hiring event Aug. 19, 2026, from 5-6 p.m. at Tomahawk Creek Middle (1600 Learning Place Loop). See more details and register to attend. Registration is encouraged but not required.
