Upcoming Chromebook distribution
Chesterfield County Public Schools will begin distributing Chromebooks after school begins. Before a Chromebook can be issued to a student, a parent or guardian must submit a Chromebook Use Agreement for the 2026-27 school year via ParentVUE. The agreement will appear when you log into the platform.
A Chromebook will not be issued to students who
already have a CCPS-issued Chromebook assigned to them.

New Bensley Elementary officially opened for 2026-27 school year
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, leaders from Chesterfield County Public Schools and Chesterfield County government cut the ribbon to officially open the new Bensley Elementary School. After the brief ceremony, families and community members explored the new building.
"Bensley students and teachers will be buzzing with excitement and potential as they get to know their new classrooms and other learning spaces,” said Superintendent Dr. John Murray. “Aug. 24 will be an especially memorable first day of school for the Bensley Tigers!"
The new Bensley Elementary will accommodate up to 1,000 students in kindergarten through fifth grade; the old building’s program capacity was 575 students. The new Bensley Elementary is part of a community facilities bond plan approved by Chesterfield County voters in 2022. Virginia Public School Authority bonds covered the building’s $52 million budget.
Registration open for CCPS Night School through Aug. 27, 2026
Night School provides high school students the opportunity to earn credits at no cost in the evening. Students engage in intense academic study to complete a traditional yearlong course in a single semester. A wide variety of courses are offered including English 11 and 12, graphic design, driver’s education, ecology, U.S. history and more.
Students and families should contact their school counselor to register. Night School classes begin Aug. 31. Learn more about Night School and other alternative educational options.
Update your transportation info now (if you haven't already)
If you have not done so already, please update your student's transportation information by logging into ParentVUE to choose the way students will travel to and from school and to check your home address and any alternative addresses. Transportation information should be updated prior to Aug. 1 to ensure that changes are reflected in your student’s bus route when school begins. More information and instructions are available on the school division website.

Food services hiring event Aug. 19
Chesterfield County Public Schools is interviewing for part-time food services associates to work in school cafeterias at a hiring event Aug. 19, 2026, from 5-6 p.m. at Tomahawk Creek Middle (1600 Learning Place Loop). See more details and register to attend. Registration is encouraged.

School Board meeting scheduled for Aug. 11, 2026
The Chesterfield County School Board will hold its regular business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, in the Chesterfield County Public Meeting Room (10001 Iron Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA). Visit BoardDocs to see the meeting agenda and more.
Public comment will be accepted during the business meeting. Submit written public comments to the board online or sign up to speak in person by 2 p.m. Aug. 11.
