Deep Creek Elementary is now open for learning!
Chesterfield County Public Schools officially opened the new Deep Creek Elementary with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 30, 2026. After the brief ceremony, families and community members explored the new building, which is the 41st elementary school within Chesterfield County Public Schools. When it opens Aug. 24, Deep Creek Elementary, located in the Matoaca District, will accommodate up to 1,000 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. The school is funded as part of a community facilities bond plan approved by Chesterfield County voters in 2022. Virginia Public School Authority bonds covered the building’s $52 million budget.
Update your transportation info now (if you haven't already)
If you have not done so already, please update your student's transportation information by logging into ParentVUE to choose the way students will travel to and from school and to check your home address and any alternative addresses. Transportation information should be updated prior to Aug. 1 to ensure that changes are reflected in your student’s bus route when school begins. More information and instructions are available on the school division website.

To subscribe using Apple Calendar, Outlook or another calendar app
Copy this link and add it as a subscribed calendar in your calendar app. Instructions vary by app and device. Outlook users may need to add the calendar through Outlook on the web or the desktop app.

Bensley Elementary ribbon-cutting ceremony is Aug. 5, 2026
Chesterfield County Public Schools will be cutting the ribbon for the new Bensley Elementary at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 6600 Strathmore Road.
The new school is built on the site of the previous Bensley Elementary, which opened in 1954. The new school will accommodate up to 1,000 students in grades K-5; the previous program capacity was 575. The replacement school building is part of a community facilities bond plan approved by Chesterfield County voters in 2022. Virginia Public School Authority bonds covered the building's $52 million budget.

Adult education classes can help you prepare for a better job, earn your GED diploma or learn English, with supportive, flexible opportunities for those who want to improve their situations.
