Reminder: Schedule immunization appointments for the upcoming school year
This summer, families should schedule immunizations for children who will enter kindergarten, seventh grade and 12th grade in the 2026-27 school year. Primary care appointments are booking several months out and families should schedule early to avoid the late-summer rush. If you do not have a primary care provider, there are options available to you. Aaahh!!! Real monsters!
The big imaginations at Swift Creek Elementary came to life, thanks to a partnership project with Capital One. Students created drawings and stories of their own monsters and a team of professional artists crafted amazing models, posters and more of the kids’ creations. Watch this video to see the smiles and surprise when their creatures were revealed!
WATCH: Placing the final beam for the new West Ridge High School
On June 16, school and county leaders celebrated construction progress on West Ridge High School by holding a topping-off ceremony. The first new high school in 20 years in Chesterfield County Public Schools, West Ridge High is scheduled to open for students in August 2027. Watch this video to see how they marked this milestone with this construction tradition.
July 29 is deadline to apply to serve on School Board advisory committees
Advisory committees established by the Chesterfield County School Board are one way community members connect with schools. Advisory committee members are appointed from each of the county’s five magisterial districts and include parents, teachers, staff members, students and others interested in helping Chesterfield County Public Schools achieve its vision of creating a better tomorrow.

Clover Hill High wins back-to-back National Guard Cups

For outstanding success in VHSL academic activities, Clover Hill High won the 2025-26 National Guard Cup presented by the Virginia Army National Guard. This is Clover Hill’s fourth cup, having also won in 2024-25, 2021-22 and 2015-16.
The Virginia High School League annually awards the cup to recognize yearlong success in academic activities. A point system determines the winner based on overall performance in VHSL state championships throughout the school year. Clover Hill High earned 350 points to win the cup for VHSL class 5. Clover Hill High students earned points in magazine (35), online news (20), yearbook (20), debate (50) and film festival (225).
