Administrative appointments
Shelley Davis was named principal of Clover Hill Elementary, effective July 1. She is currently assistant principal of Ecoff Elementary.
Summer Davis was named principal of Evergreen Elementary, effective July 1. She is currently the assistant principal of Evergreen Elementary.
Lindsey Kistner was named principal of Elizabeth Scott Elementary, effective July 1. She is currently the assistant principal of Elizabeth Scott Elementary.
Awards and recognitions
Recognizing outstanding music and arts
Youth Art Month, Theater in Our Schools Month and Music in Our Schools Month were celebrated with information, resolutions and student performances.
Gloria Zhang was honored as the school system’s top speller, and Bird High engineering students were recognized for organizing an engineering challenge for elementary schools.
The turf management program at Thomas Dale High and the student-run store at Meadowbrook High were recognized for their accomplishments.
Recognizing staff members
The board recognized Joyce Jackson for being appointed Virginia’s State Advocate for Adult Education Fellow.
The board recognized nominees for the R.E.B. Award for Distinguished Educational Leadership and announced that Bird High Principal Adrienne Blanton is this year’s winner.

The School Board recognized the Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center.

Superintendent’s report
The superintendent’s report included a meaningful moments video about CCPS alum Morgan Moses who played in the Super Bowl; a legislative update; recognition of Women’s History Month; and some highlights from the past month, including the Mini Museum, Read Across America events and General Assembly recognition of the Manchester Middle cheerleaders.
