Happy Friday! Spring is almost here and March is going to be a busy month for Chesterfield County Public Schools. While our seniors are preparing for their 2026 graduation, we're taking kindergarten registrations for the class of 2039. Oh, and we're beginning sign-ups for our summer programs. Stay tuned, we're just warming up!

March 12 – Chesterfield Virtual School open house event to learn about our K-8 alternative
March 15 – Deadline to submit a presentation to the Generative AI Student Fair
March 19 – A full day of classes (previously a half-day)
March 20 – Holiday, all schools and CCPS offices closed
March 20 – Deadline to apply for CEF scholarship opportunities
March 25 – Disabilities Resource Fair at Evergreen Elementary
March 27 – Deadline to apply for SOL/W!se academies
Kindergarten registration for the class of 2039 has begun!
It's time! Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30, 2026, can start kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year. Beginning the registration process early will help schools prepare for the best possible kindergarten year, which in turn will give students a strong start to their K-12 years.

Take the first step by preregistering online. The school will then reach out to schedule a time to visit the school and complete the final steps of the registration process.
Learn about Chesterfield Virtual School at March 12 open house

Meet the team behind the screen IRL at an open house for Chesterfield Virtual School, March 12, 2026, from 4–6 p.m. at 10055 Courthouse Road. Chesterfield Virtual School is the online alternative for students K-8. Visit the open house to meet the principal, teachers, counselors and more to see how your student can benefit from online learning. Summer camp sign-ups are open now

Sign up now for summer camps offered by Chesterfield County Public Schools. Students can expand their world with new languages, arts, STEM, sports and more. Camps are first come, first served — and once they're full that's it! Learn more and sign up for our summer camps here.

Don't forget to spring forward and set your clocks ahead one hour this weekend. You don't want to show up too early for classes on Monday.

We want to make it as easy as possible to register your child to attend Chesterfield County Public Schools. Whether your child is an incoming kindergartner or is an older student transferring schools, the registration process starts online. First grade gardeners at work

First graders at Hopkins Elementary got their hands dirty while learning about gardening from Fit4Kids, a local nonprofit focused on children's health and wellness. Throughout the year, the Hopkins Bobcats explore all of the components of gardening, from preparing the soil to harvesting vegetables.
Student council, at your service

Earlier this year, members of Enon Elementary's Student Council Association completed their first service project: cleaning the hill in front of the school and sorting lost and found items. The student council is a great way for students in grades K-5 to work together to better their school.
Doors that teach

A Black History Month reading project allowed students at Robious Elementary to independently reflect on and appreciate the uniqueness in themselves and others. Watch this video to see how classrooms connect with books for an engaging and authentic learning experience.
Record-breaking Mini Museum is a huge display of tiny art

Art classes throughout Chesterfield County Public Schools collaborated to establish the world's largest, kid-created museum of tiny artworks. The record-breaking display includes approximately 2,416 miniature artworks created by 2,196 students in grades PK-12. Eyes Open — A Parent's Guide to Drug Trends

The world of substances is changing fast, and parents need to stay one step ahead. This workshop highlights the latest drug trends — from vaping to risky products sold in gas stations — so families know what to look for and how to respond.
Make a difference as a Source of Strength for our students

Parents and community members are invited to become Adult Advisors with our Sources of Strength program in middle and high schools. Sources of Strength helps students build resilience, connection, and hope. Adult advisors are vital as caring, trusted supporters who help students feel connected, supported and valued. Training sessions begin March 16, 2026. Sign up to get involved and learn more.

School bus driver hiring event scheduled for March 12
Want a full-time job with optional summers off or maybe part-time with a flexible schedule? Become a bus driver for Chesterfield County Public Schools! Come and interview at our hiring event Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5–6 p.m. at Clover Hill High (13301 Kelly Green Lane). No experience needed. Get paid while you train for your CDL. Starting pay is $24.15/hour or higher with experience. Learn more and register to attend.

Advisory committees are one way community members connect with schools. Advisory committee members include parents, teachers, staff members, students and others interested in helping Chesterfield County Public Schools achieve its vision of creating a better tomorrow. CCPS School Board meeting scheduled for March 10, 2026
The Chesterfield County School Board will hold its regular business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Chesterfield County Public Meeting Room (10001 Iron Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Va.).
