Women's History Month

March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the achievements, leadership and lasting impact of women who have shaped our schools, our community and our world. We celebrate the women of our school division whose dedication, talent and care help create a better tomorrow for our students every day.

Kindergarten registration for the class of 2039 begins March 2

Kindergarten Registration

It’s that time! Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30, 2026, can start kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year. Beginning the registration process early will help schools prepare for the best possible kindergarten year, which in turn will give students a strong start to their K-12 years. 

Students to embark on the Quest for School Breakfast

School breakfast gives Chesterfield students the energy and nutrition necessary to be their best. To celebrate National School Breakfast Week (March 2-6), our schools are serving up a royally delicious breakfast menu each day and raffling off exciting medieval history books to students who join the “Quest for School Breakfast.” See your school’s menus on SchoolCafe. Big imagination on display at the Mini Museum

The world's largest, kid-created museum of tiny artworks will be open during mall hours through April 19 at Chesterfield Towne Center, 11500 Midlothian Turnpike. The south entrance near Old Navy and the north entrance near H&M provide quick access to the museum.

Disabilities Resource Fair at Evergreen Elementary, March 25

The community is invited to join the Evergreen Elementary PTA for an inclusive and informative event connecting families, educators, and community members with local organizations and resources supporting individuals with disabilities. The event is March 25, 2026, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Evergreen Elementary. Registration is encouraged but not required. For questions, contact EvergreenPTAsped@gmail.com.

A powerful presentation for CTC students

Dominion Energy

Dominion Energy employees spent time at Career and Technical Center @ Courthouse, demonstrating equipment and discussing career opportunities with students. Dominion Day covered everything from substation work to fleet management. Students were excited to learn that three of the Dominion reps had also attended the CTC and graduated from Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Matoaca Elementary celebrates 100 days!

Matoaca Elementary 100 Day

Matoaca Elementary celebrated being 100 days smarter when the 100th day of the school year rolled around in February. Students and staff members dressed as though they were 100 years old, wore 100th day shirts or doubled up with Kindness Week and dressed in their favorite sports gear on the 100th day of school.

La Feria event immerses students in Hispanic culture

La Feria

La Feria is a longstanding Hispanic cultural celebration for students and teachers in Chesterfield County Public Schools. More than 400 students participated in workshops led by faculty, staff, students and volunteers, including cooking pupusas, practicing folk dances, playing Spanish games and more. Thanks to the Spanish Immersion Specialty Center at Manchester High for hosting this year’s festivities.

Working Together, Parenting Apart: Navigating Co-Parenting

Special guest Susan Buniva will share practical strategies for supporting your child while navigating co-parenting relationships. Learn tools for healthy communication, setting boundaries, and reducing conflict with the child’s well-being at the center. This session offers realistic, compassionate guidance for co-parents at any stage of the journey.

Career training: Free paraprofessional program offered

Launch your career as a paraprofessional (instructional assistant) with a free training program offered by Chesterfield County Public Schools from March 17-May 14, 2026. These jobs are high-demand roles in our school system. Courses combine in-person and virtual instruction and include job preparation, and if needed, ParaPro Exam support and First Aid/CPR/AED certification. In-person sessions will be held at CTC@Courthouse (10101 Courthouse Rd.). Learn more and register now.

Chesterfield County Public Schools is holding a hiring event March 7 to interview eligible candidates to fill teaching positions for the 2026-27 school year.
