Happy Friday! That winter storm really came on strong. We hope everyone is warm, safe and sound. Because of the days we’ve missed, two previously scheduled half days, Feb. 6, and March 19, will now be full instructional days.

Celebrating Black History Month

Celebrating Black History Month

Chesterfield County Public schools recognizes Black History Month and celebrates the accomplishments and contributions from the African American communities throughout history and in the present. In February, Chesterfield County and Virginia State University are presenting programs exploring the rich, diverse heritage of African Americans and their contributions to our community and nation.

Immigration protections in public schools: Guidance shared last year remains in place

Teacher of the Year 2026

Each year, Chesterfield County Public Schools honors outstanding educators by naming a Teacher of the Year at every school. From those honorees, the division selects an Elementary, Middle and High School Teacher of the Year — and ultimately one districtwide Teacher of the Year.

On Jan. 20, school leaders surprised this year’s honorees with visits to their classrooms. Watch the video to see a few of #oneCCPS's best recognized for their outstanding work.

Budget Town Hall schedule

We encourage the entire community to join us at town hall meetings to learn more about the proposed FY 2027 budget, ask questions and provide feedback. Each meeting is 6:30-8 p.m. Check our website for dates and locations.

Are you a teacher looking for career opportunities? Chesterfield County Public Schools is holding a virtual hiring event on Feb. 7, 2026, to interview eligible candidates to fill teaching positions for the 2026-27 school year. Those interested in attending this event should apply here by Feb. 3.

Budget work session schedule

The Chesterfield County School Board will hold public budget work sessions from 4-6 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room (10001 Iron Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832) on the following dates:

  • Feb. 3, 2026

  • Feb. 10, 2026

  • Feb. 18, 2026

The Chesterfield County School Board will hold public hearings on the superintendent’s FY 2027 operating budget and the FY 2027-31 capital improvement plan at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10, 2026, in the Public Meeting Room. The public hearings will take place before the start of the School Board’s regularly scheduled business meeting. Learn more about the budget.
