The Chesterfield Recovery Academy is now accredited through the Association of Recovery Schools.
Justin Savoy, program director of the Chesterfield Recovery Academy, received word in late December that the association’s thorough review resulted in a positive evaluation. Across the United States, only 12 schools hold this distinction. The evaluation noted in particular that the academy excels in educational practices and its recovery practices have many strong elements, especially mental health support.
Virginia’s first recovery high school, the Chesterfield Recovery Academy opened in August 2022 as a year-round program serving high school students from central Virginia who are seeking recovery from substance use disorders. The academy’s website offers more information about the program and how students can apply.
