Parents can access special education documents via ParentVUE
It is now much easier for parents to access documents for students who receive special education services. Chesterfield County Public Schools staff members in the Special Education Department and the Technology Division collaborated to make IEPs, 504 plans and other documents readily available via ParentVUE.
Parents log in to their ParentVUE account and navigate to the special education section of their child’s profile. This step-by-step guide (in English and in Spanish) shows how to do that.
From there, parents can view and download available documents (IEP, 504 plan, eligibility packet, progress reports, etc.) at any time, without needing to request copies from the school.
The new process is a big improvement from the previous one, in which parents received printed or electronic copies of special education documents from their child’s school. Feedback from the Special Education Advisory Committee sparked this change. Learn more about ParentVUE, including guides to finding specific information.
