Recognizing students

Manchester High students were recognized for winning top awards in the Virginia High School League film festival that took place at the end of the 2024-25 school year.

Recognizing schools

Moseley Elementary, Spring Run Elementary and Salem Church Middle were recognized for being named National PTA Schools of Excellence for 2024-26.

Recognizing Mirror Me

The Mirror Me program was recognized for recently adding its fourth cohort.

Celebrating our partners

The School Board recognized Cornerstone Assembly of God, Greater Richmond YMCA, Chesterfield County Community Engagement and Resources and Chesterfield County Public Library for their generous support of Participate Learning teachers.

Recognizing staff members

These bus drivers were recognized for outstanding performance:

  • Danielle Kee, Area 1, Bus 735, one year of service

  • Christopher Turner, Area 2, Bus 481, one year of service

  • Marc McWilliams, Area 3, Bus 34, three years of service

  • Sharon Timmons, Area 4, Bus 838, 12 years of service

  • Sharonette Spencer Mitchell, Area 5, Bus 853, 26 years of service

These food service employees were recognized:

  • Outstanding employee: Karen Suarez, food service associate, Manchester High, 15 years of service

  • Outstanding manager: Nicole Bennett, assistant cafeteria manager, Meadowbrook High, six years of service

Applications for Clover Hill District interim appointment

On Oct. 1, the School Board announced a process to identify an interim representative for the Clover Hill District who will begin serving on Jan. 1, 2026. A 10-day application period was open from Oct. 1 until 5 p.m. Oct. 10. Applications for the interim appointment are available here. The board will consider these applications and name the Clover Hill District interim board member at a meeting on a later date.

Board actions

The consent agenda was approved as presented. Memos of interest included:

The board approved option 1 for attendance zone changes for Grange Hall Elementary, Moseley Elementary and Woolridge Elementary (memo #146-25) that take effect for the 2026-27 school year with the opening of the new Deep Creek Elementary School.

The board approved memo #147-25 to update School Board policy 5150-F (grievance form).

Superintendent’s report

The superintendent’s report included a meaningful moments video about science exploration at Bellwood Elementary, information about Thank You, Team Chesterfield Week (Oct. 27-31) and highlights of work and progress throughout Chesterfield County Public Schools.
