Dr. DeAnna Moreau was named 2025 Math Specialist Educator of the Year by the Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She is the elementary math curriculum specialist for Chesterfield County Public Schools and also serves as an adjunct professor at George Mason University and Averett University.
In announcing the award, which was presented in June, the Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics wrote, “Your exceptional contributions to mathematics education have been recognized. … This prestigious award truly honors and acknowledges your passion, ingenuity and dedication.”
Dr. Moreau noted that this recognition carries extra meaning because her mother, Patricia Taylor, who taught math at Meadowbrook High, won this award in 1990.
