Bellwood Elementary’s Jessica Felice is dedicated to being the kind of teacher she always wanted to be as a child. Because of this, her fourth grade students are getting a full, well-rounded learning experience built on confidence and community.
Felice loves teaching fourth grade. When asked about her favorite part, she shared, “I love the personalities. They are becoming their own little humans and have a million questions, and I promote that in my classroom.”
How exactly does she foster these little humans, you ask? Whether through providing opportunities for them each day to engage with her and their fellow classmates or special hands-on projects like “Space Day,” where students learn about the life and work of astronauts by developing their own rockets, preparing for launch day and trying astronaut food.
In these experiences, Felice keeps her philosophy and approach at the top of mind when it comes to caring for and developing students. “I think confidence to think they’re able to do, really anything kind of broadens them up, and connecting and feeling like they’re not alone in the world, I think gives them kind of like that superpower to like, feel like they’re important,” she said.
Through her commitment to empowering her students to engage in every aspect of education, Jessica Felice is making an impact on them that will surely stick with them as they progress further through their educational journey. Thank you, Jessica Felice; you are spot on.
