Spread the word: there’s still time to register for kindergarten!
If you or someone you know in Chesterfield County has a child that will be 5 by Sept. 30, there’s still time to register for kindergarten. Help our community get their young ones enrolled by sharing this information.
Your child’s school is based on your place of residence. Find out which school they’ll attend through Find My School. Some districts may have changed, so be sure to check the “2025-26” box at top.
You’ll need to have certain documents, including a birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency and more. See what information and documents you’ll need.
To begin, preregister online through ParentVue.
After preregistration, the school will contact you to set up a school visit to complete the registration process.
Need something different from the traditional school setting? We also offer virtual options with Chesterfield Virtual School for K-8 students and CCPSOnline for grades 9-12.

Reminder: Cameras to enforce speed limits in some school zones
Chesterfield County is placing cameras in school zones to enforce speed limits, protect students and boost road safety. Cameras are being installed at multiple schools to ensure drivers follow posted speed limits in active school zones.
The cameras will enforce speed limits only while flashing warning lights are active during school hours. On school days, the warning lights are on for one hour in the morning as students arrive and one hour in the afternoon as students depart.
Automated speed cameras at these schools will be operational at the start of the 2025-26 school year, and violators will receive citations when their vehicles are documented going more than 10 mph over the posted speed limit in an active school zone.
Beulah Elementary
Marguerite Christian Elementary
Cosby High
Ecoff Elementary
Grange Hall Elementary
Midlothian High
Moseley Elementary
Old Hundred Elementary
Reams Road Elementary
Swift Creek Elementary
Automated speed cameras at these schools will begin a 30-day warning period at the start of the 2025-26 school year. During this time, violators will receive warnings instead of citations when their vehicles are documented going more than 10 mph over the posted speed limit in an active school zone.
Manchester Middle
Matoaca Elementary
Cameras are planned in the coming weeks at additional schools. This website offers the latest information.
The start of school is nearly here: Update your child’s transportation info
As the start of the 2025-26 school year approaches, it’s important to make sure your student’s transportation details are up to date in ParentVUE. This includes confirming how they will get to and from school and verifying both your home and any alternative addresses.
Already updated your info? Great! If not, don’t wait. Making changes now helps ensure a smooth start to the school year.
What you need to know:
Bus stops and pick-up/drop-off times are now available in Versatrans e-link.
Update by Aug. 1 to help ensure changes are reflected when school begins.
Bus numbers will be shared soon.
As transportation planning continues and more students are added to bus routes, current route plans could change. Be sure to check your child’s route just before the start of school; routes could change as late as the day before school begins.
How to make changes:
Log in to ParentVUE, select your student’s name, then click “Student Info” to update transportation preferences.
Alternative addresses such as a second parent’s home or before/after school care can also be added or updated in ParentVUE as needed.
Need to update your home address? Contact your school registrar. Changes are not final until verified.
Need help? Easy instructions are available here. Call the Transportation Department at 804-464-3077 with questions.
