The Meadowbrook Speech Team is a State Championship Winning team. We take the power of words seriously and have created a space where students can grow in their public speaking craft, elevate their analytical prowess, develop and strengthen their leadership skills.

Last season our team won a VHSL State Championship, produced three Regional Champions, and two runner-ups.

For the 2023-2024 school year, we will meet every Monday from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the library. We will also meet once a week during Pride Time. Students must arrange for their own transportation for practices. Transportation will be provided for competitions.

Our season begins in early October and concludes with the State Competition in late March.

There are no cuts for Speech, but every student on the team is required to follow the rules enforced within the program. Athletes need to pass five classes per VHSL rules in order to be eligible to compete.
