Crochet Club

Name of Club/Activity

Crochet Club

Overview

The Crochet Club teaches students the craft of crochet and provides time and a relaxing space for them to practice throughout the year. Crochet offers mindfulness, reduces stress and anxiety, builds self-esteem, brings students to work together, and produces items students can use or sell. The club is catered to students’ needs and what they’d like to work on.

Highlights

The club was a recipient of the Henshaw Grant, which provided the club with funds to purchase yarn, hooks, pattern books, and other materials that are available for any member to use. Students in the club have created many items such as dolls, wearable clothes, accessories, and much more. They now have this skill with them wherever they go and is available to them to enjoy for the rest of their lives.

Time Commitment

Crochet Club meets on most Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Please join the Canvas page for specific dates. Students are not required to come to every club to be a member, participants may utilize the space as often or as little as they like.
