Name of Club/Activity

National Honor Society (NHS)

Overview

NHS student membership is the true mark of academic achievement. All student members must also reflect the program’s respective pillars to be inducted—ideals such as scholarship, service, leadership, and character—and they must continue demonstrating these pillars within their community throughout their membership.

Highlights

Members participate in a formal induction ceremony each year. Members participate in multiple community service activities, both at school and in the community.

Time Commitment

NHS meets 1-2 times per semester after school. Students must perform a minimum of 10 hours of community service during their Senior year.

How to Sign Up

NHS has an application process for student selection. Students may apply to the NHS in the Spring of their Junior year or Fall of their Senior year. Students must have a minimum 3.60 GPA overall. Students must be involved in at least two extra-curricular activities, with one being at Midlothian High School. Students must provide examples of leadership and community service during the application process.
